BIG BOY NO. 4017

The Big Boy steam locomotives built between 1941 and 1944 by Alco. Union Pacific had twenty-five 4000 class 4-8-8-4 articulated Big Boys that pulled long trains at 60 miles per hour. In July, 1959 they ended their service. Only eight Big Boys are left on display. Big Boy 4017 is on display at the National Railroad Museum, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
