1936 HIAWATHA

CLASS A 4-4-2, ATLANTIC NO. 3

The class A locomotive was design with speed in mind, and they were shrouded when built. Four Atlantic's were built by ALCO for the Milwaukee Road. They were used to pull the streamline Hiawatha trains in 1935. The Atlantic's reached speeds of over 100 mph. No. 3 was cannibalized in 1949 to keep the other Atlantic's running until 1951 when they were scrapped.

1939 HIAWATHA
CLASS F7 4-6-4, HUDSON NO. 103

Original Sold

The streamline hudson class was built for speed to pull the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha. The engines was put in service in 1938. There were six engines built, numbers 100 to 105. They would reach speeds of over 100 m.p.h. between Chicago and Minneapolis.

CHIPPEWA HIAWATHA

CLASS F1 4-6-2, PACIFIC NO. 151

Original Sold

Originally No. 151 was Class F-3 No. 1539 built by Alco's Brooks plant in 1910. Converted to F-3as. Remunbered in 1910 to 3237 and to 6537 in 1912. In 1924, it became 6157. It was designated F1 No. 151 in 1938 and streamlined for Chippewa Hiawatha service and scrapped in 1954.

CHIPPEWA HIAWATHA

Original Sold

The F3 Pacific was built by Alco Brooks works in 1910, No 1550. Later converted to F-3b and renumbered, No. 3248 and No. 6548 in 1912. In 1924 renumbered, No. 6168 and then in 1938, No. 197. It was used on the Chippewa Hiawatha service and scrapped in 1954.
